elcome to the Companions of The Way! We are a Catholic confraternity in formation seeking to live out a new monastic way of life in the 21st century, meaning we seek to be disciples of Jesus while living in the world. Our charism and spirituality is rooted in the Catholic & Anglican traditions of English Christianity and nurtured by the English Benedictine rhythm of “ora et labora,” or “prayer and work.”

Our mission springs from our motto “discipuli facientes discipuli,” or “disciples making disciples.” Our desire is to see members in every parish seeking to be total disciples of Jesus Christ within community or a “fellowship of discipleship.” We want all Christians to experience the over-abundant life (John 10:10) of joy, love, and peace that comes from taking up your cross and following Jesus. The call to discipleship is arduous, and the world strives against us (Eph. 6:12). Our fellowship of disciples says to those who struggle to follow Jesus in this modern world, ‘you are not alone.’

We also wish for our spirituality of discipleship to be a vehicle for the reconciliation of Catholic and non-Catholic Christians.

Membership in the confraternity is open to Catholic men  or women, single or married, clergy or religious, living in community with other Companions or with their own families. We wholeheartedly welcome non-Catholic Christians to join our community through our Friends of The Companions program to enrich their faith with our spirituality of discipleship.

Join us to engage in the ancient “faith once and for all handed down to the saints” (Jude 3).
